<description><![CDATA[Fist off you should have a real .htaccess file on your server, some times they can be hiden from you by admin., what hosting service are you using? And second the command to call up the php files is this:
&lt; ?phpinclude(&quot;somefile.php&quot;);?&gt;
and not
&lt; ?
phpinfo();
?&gt;
Third, the pages I told you to make in html and then save a copy of them as php, only need the content, no meta info or any body tags should be included. Because this info will be displayed again on your index page which will all ready have meta and body tags. try the second step above first and see if that does it, if not let me know and we will look a little deeper.]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[Hi,
I have been looking for an easy to use method of building structured pages like this, that allow searching, for some time, so I have tried to implement what you describe :

firstly :
&lt; ?
phpinfo();
?&gt;

This works ok for me, in the form :

(note space removed)

I have built the index table page, and simple html pages for the frames,
and re-named them .php :
(
- not clear should these be fully specified pages :
       CONTENT
or just
                  CONTENT
- I have tried both
)

However I am having trouble getting the .php pages to display -
I get the 'frames' OK, with MAIN CONTENT displayed OK,
but the other 'frames' are blank ...
Any ideas ?

Oh, I did not seem to have a .htaccess file in /htdocs,
so I then created one with the recommended 1 line,
but no difference - perhaps the true .htaccess is elsewhere ?

help appreciated, I would like to get this working ...

cheers,
    beau]]></description>

<title>[Webmaster Resources] Using PHP for Website Navigation, Explained.</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?3,25,25#msg-25</link>

      <description><![CDATA[By: Craig S. Freshwater, Webmaster/CEO http://www.newcybertech.com
http://newcybertech.com/Blog/2006/04/15/using-php-for-website-navigation-explained/

PHP can be very useful in your webiste design, I use PHP for my websites difficult functions such as forums, blogs, chat, user forms, and shopping cart interface. But did you know you can use simple PHP for your website navigation systems?

The use of PHP for your websites header, left side navigation, and bottom of page information can be a great asset. Now I know what you are thinking, PHP can be complicated and intimidating to many of you, but first let me explain.
Using simple PHP include commands is a method any webmaster at any expertise level from novice to expert can implement with ease.

Most find editing PHP a frightening endeavor, but never fear, I will show you how.

A lot of us still use tables when designing our web pages instead of CCS, below is a veiw of the basic setup I will be discussing in this article:

Go here to see Image http://www.newcybertech.com/images/Artica1.jpg

As you can see from the image above, all the content surrounding the main content of each page will be shown in PHP and this is what this article is all about. The benefit of this technique will be when you update any of the surrounding PHP files, the results will be reflected on every page on your website that you have setup in this fashion. This sounds great right, but hold on, there is one more benefit.

You may say the same thing can be accomplished with robot include commands, but there is a catch to that.

The problem with the robot include command is that this content can not be seen by search engine robots. We all know that content is king to achieving high search engine rankings, so why hide the content you have? That’s why what I am about to teach you and using PHP for your website navigation is so important.

“All the information and links included in your navigation PHP can be seen and indexed by all the search engine robots for higher rankings.”

Now on to how it all Works:

Please read below if you need this information, if not browse down to the steps to generate PHP navigation on your website.

PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor, better known as PHP, is a highly popular, server-side scripting language that can be embedded directly into HTML coding.PHP can do anything that CGI can do, such as process form data and auto generate dynamic content, but PHP can do much more.It can be used on all major operating systems and supports most web servers.PHP is used by inserting PHP code inside your web page’s HTML code. When the page is called, your server automatically executes the code. What’s more, your visitors don’t need any special plug-ins for the code to run, as it will be displayed just like your HTML coding. As PHP is a server-side scripting language, although your visitors will not need to install any new software, PHP must be set up on your server.

Following is a very simple script that will test your server to ensure PHP is installed. It is a standard PHP function called phpinfo, which instructs the browser to print out information in regard to the set up of your server.

To use the script, simply copy the following three lines of code and paste them into a plain text editor, such as Note Pad.

&lt; ?
phpinfo();
?&gt;

Save the file as phpinfo.php and upload it to your server where you store your HTML files.

To run the script, simply point your browser to the script address. It should look something like this:

http://www.yourdomain.com/phpinfo.php

If PHP is installed on your server, you will be presented with a page of information about the PHP installed on your server.

If PHP isn’t installed, you will be prompted to download the file. In this case, you’ll need to contact your web host and ask them to install it, as it is free to download and install.

You can learn more about PHP and download it at

http://www.php.net/.

Steps to generate PHP navigation on your website.

First of all you need to enable create a php file with html includes using the php include function. This is easily done by adding one line to your .htaccess file for your apache driven site and have php parsed in html files. To do this logon to your websites FTP account, go into the .htdocs file, find the .htaccess file, edit it to add this one line of code to the file:

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .html

With that, you can have php blocks parsed in your html files so long as you put the php code in php tags. Example below:

php Code:

We will get into how to use the above command a little later in this article .
Now on to the steps:

Step 1.
Build the the following pages in your favorite HTML editor:
A. header.html
B. left.html
C. bottom.html
D. right.html (optional)
Or you can name these files what ever you like, but I will be referencing them as the above for this article. Once you have these pages built to your liking, we now start implementing with PHP. First build a new Index.html page, you can name it TEST or something until you get it the way you want it. Set it up with tables to look like the page below:

Go here to see Image http://www.newcybertech.com/images/Artica2.jpg

Step 2. Now here is the trick, rename each HTML page you just built, “header.html, left.html, bottom.html, and right.html (optional)” to the .php file extension. You can do this by opening each .html file in a text file editor such as Notepad and save as .php to the same directory as the .html files on your server. You will now have a copy of each file in HTML and PHP format.

Step 3. We are now ready to use the new PHP files, in each table around your main content we will insert the Command functions.
See example below:

Go here to see Image http://www.newcybertech.com/images/php.jpg

Step 4. Open your new index page in your favorite browser and you will now see all the HTML pages you built come together as one page by using PHP.

Go here to see Image http://www.newcybertech.com/newcybertech.jpg

Step 5. Editing the new PHP navigation pages is easy, all you need to do is edit the HTML file you built in you favorite HTML editor. When your are done just copy the pages HTML and then paste it into the corresponding PHP file. To do this open the PHP file with a text editor and replace the HTML with in it with the edited version of HTML and save it as .php again. Now your PHP file is updated to match your edited HTML file.

In conclusion:
Now when ever you update your website header and navigation pages the results will be reflected on every page on your website that you have setup in this fashion. And as a added bonus all the information and links included in your navigation PHP can be seen and indexed by all the search engine robots for higher rankings.

 &amp;nbsp;The History of tables

Before tables came along, the web was a pretty dull place. Using tables for
 layout opened up new vistas of possibilities of visually &amp;quot;designing&amp;quot;
a page. It could well be argued that table based layout was responsible for the
popularity of the web and the field of web design.

Worse still, over the last few years, table based layout has come under severe
criticism and was widely demonized. Web purists claim that tables were never
meant for layout so one shouldn't use them for such. A rapidly progressive hype
seems to be in the air all around.

 Reality behind the hype

Despite the fact that pioneers have been talking about web standards for a long
time, the majority of web sites are still developed using tables and non
standards compliant code . History has shown many examples of technologies that
started out life with one purpose, only to end up finding more practical
applications as something else. And it sounds very apt in case of tables. The
web itself was never intended to be a channel for edutainment, marketing and
information but for sharing research data.

Using tables is a pragmatic approach, if not preferred

The W3c Web Accessibility Guidelines recognize that designers will continue to
use table for layout - and so include information about how they can be
implemented in the most accessible way. Designers are not going to immediately
stop using tables for layout; mainly owning to the reason that this is the
default behavior of most WYSWYG (what you see is what you get) Web design
packages and; CSS for layout is so difficult to implement successfully.

Moreover, Professionals still argue the use of tables for the layout of pages
on the Web, despite the fact that this goes against current standards. They
argue it to be a pragmatic approach - if not their preferred options.
Let's explode the myths: CSS vs Tables

Most web designers don't simply feel the need to switch over

The majority of web sites are still developed using tables and non standards
compliant code. Because of this, user agents will be forced to handle table
based layouts for many years to come. This effectively negates one of the
biggest selling points for web standards. That of forward compatibility. That's
why, most web designers really don't feel there is an overwhelming need to
start developing sites using CSS based layouts and standards compliant code.

CSS development has a much higher barrier to entry than table based design

While comparing table based design to CSS based design, the syntax of CSS, for
sure, turns out to be is pretty easy. Nobody in their right mind would argue
that you need too be a rocket scientist to learn CSS. Nevertheless, some of the
concepts can be quite tricky to assimilate.

Continuing in the same spirit it is true that there are so many bugs, even the
&amp;quot;experts&amp;quot; find themselves spending an inordinate amount of time bug
fixing. For a novice this must be extremely frustrating. Not knowing if the
problem is down to your misunderstanding of CSS or some obscure browser bug.

 Perhaps this is why many people see web standards as &amp;quot;Ivory Tower&amp;quot;
and why many web standards advocates come across as having a sense of
superiority and a zealous attitude towards web design.

Some things are just easy-to-do with tables

People often find themselves writing fairly complicated CSS to do something
that would be trivial using tables. Take form styling for an instance. It's
possible to lay out even very tricky forms using tables in just a few minutes.
You can achieve similar results by floating elements with CSS, but it's a lot
more involved. If you're a CSS guru it's all part of the fun. However if you're
a regular mortal, it can be incredibly frustrating.

<title>[Webmaster Resources] New Trends in Increasing Your Website Exposure</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?3,23,23#msg-23</link>
      <author>newcybertech</author>
<description><![CDATA[It is not the same old Internet any longer as far as advertising goes. There are new methods to promote your website that will advantage you by increasing your bank balance. What follows are five new methods of Internet advertising that people are using to drive clientele to their website. The basic idea that 'content is king' combined with correct keyword practice is the way to go. You will not be sorry using these methods of advertising.

The number one Internet advertising plan for drawing clientele to your website is the use of a blog. A blog is a perpetual online periodical on your individual views or information on related subject matters. People that read your blog are continually conscious of your thoughts and opinions, especially those about your company and products. The advantage of promoting your company through a blog is the fact that the search engines love blogs. Fresh new content and a few good keywords mixed in will push your site higher in the search engine rankings. People will see it and more clientele will flock to your place.

In your blog, be sure to add information of value such as products reviews, or general business advice. This draws consumer interest. Additionally, other bloggers may wish to connect with your blog, and you can draw in customers from their blogs. That will repeatedly feed your position and over time, client loyalty and trust will drive your website and feed new customers into your site. You can create blogs for free at blogger.com, or if you want to host your own blog, Wordpress is a viable option. Many web hosts have this script that can be installed from their control panel.

Though, with no RSS, or Really Simple Syndication feeds, your blog may be fated to be unsuccessful. RSS feeds work by aggregating your blog information and distributing it to the customer, who will need to have a web browser or special software that can read RSS feeds. Most any information can be sent through an RSS feed. The good thing about using a blog with a RSS Feed is that often your content gets to the media. A well-written blog with an quality recommendations and advice lends you credibility in your business area. Be ready, you could have a journalist knocking at your door.

One more area in which you can add interest to your website is with the use of PHP coding. One of the drawbacks to by an RSS feed is that since it is a lively page ' the spiders will not catch it quick. For example, if it has to wait too long to directory it with the system whole, it will just move on. There are belongings you can do to work with the PHP language, and it will advantage you to learn how to do it. At least with the PHP, you can make your pages on the place look like HTML records.

Be sure and remember to use the text links too. Links to other great sites is a new publicity tendency you can use for more website contact. With SEO, Search Engine Optimization, companies use text link advertising to get their site into higher rankings. You can use auctions where you bid only on what you think you need, or through a brokerage, you can buy and sell text links. Just like with banners you can change trade links too.

Bookmark technology and methods to use them have come a long way. Most agree that getting an important person to bookmark your site will lead to prospect sales. People hardly ever ask for a customer to bookmark their place though. There are software programs that you can use to make book marking simple.

All you have to do is to provide a link and your customers can bookmark with no trouble. Some Java writing software will bookmark your site for your client. There is a small charge concerned for you. A simple 'Add This Site To Favorites' or 'Please BookMark Us' button is often enough to get the client to bookmark. Certain software will also add a special image when the client saves the site. You can do it yourself by creating a small 75X75 pixel image and upload it to your site with the name 'favicon.ico' This makes it easy to stand out from the other bookmarked sites. Pop-ups help you to get your client to bookmark too. New software will be remind your client to bookmark as they are leaving your site, and even to bookmark with their consent.

The Internet is a lively advertising experience. Consequently, the better you are at implementing its new advertising methods, the more profits you will make. So learn all you can about these five methods on new advertising trends and go grab some customers that will be with you for life.

<title>[Webmaster Resources] Help - Does Your URL Work Without The 'www.'?</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?3,22,22#msg-22</link>
      <author>newcybertech</author>
<description><![CDATA[Go into your browser and then enter your website address without the 'www.'
eg. yourdomainname.com

Press the ENTER key and see if you can still reach your website. If you can, then congratulate yourself and have an early lunch/go home early.

If not, then read on.
This is a simple problem to rectify. If you have access to your web server then you need to adjust the DNS configuration and enable or disable the www/no-www functionality. You can also setup your server to have both www and non-www so they go to the same pages (multiple headers is what it's called in IIS).

If you don't have access to your web server then you need to telephone your web hosting company and talk to them. If they can adjust your DNS settings then fine, if not then there is another way around this, you can set up a '301 Redirect'. Below are some good articles about 301 Redirects so you can learn how to set one up;
. http://www.seoconsultants.com/tips/asp/301.asp
. http://www.jdhodges.com/log/1373

Even if your website does work without the 'www.' then you may still want to use a 301 redirect just so visitors see that your domain name WITH the 'www.' is the preferred entry point for your website. This will also simplify your website statistics as yourdomain.com and www.yourdomain.com are usually recorded as separate pages.

Why Do This?
This makes your website more easily accessible to visitors if they don't include the 'www.' when entering your domain name. It also allows you to shorten your domain name when advertising your website online or offline. For example, 'Visit amazon dot com for the latest books' is easier to say than 'Visit doubleU, doubleU, doubleU dot amazon dot com for the latest books'. There's no need to include the www. everytime as that can be safely assumed to exist.

You can even use this as part of your logo. Look at the Amazon logo on their site, it doubles as the actual web address too by stating 'Amazon.com' not just 'Amazon'.
Here are some corporate websites that have overlooked this simple matter, just so you can gloat or comfort yourself in not being the only one ;) If you copy and paste the urls below into your browser and then press the ENTER key, they will not work properly.

. Slazenger.com
. TheSun.co.uk
. Heinz.co.uk

Did You Know?
As an internet user, if you're bored of typing in the www. and the .com at the beginning and end of each domain name, there is an easier way.

Just type in the name in the address bar of your browser, eg. kowabunga and then press the CTRL and ENTER keys together. This automatically places the www. and the .com at either side of the kowabunga name saving you valuable milliseconds!! (This only works with .com's though, plus it only works in Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browsers). Add to Digg]]></description>

<title>[Webmaster Resources] User Experience - Buzz Word Or The Way Forward For Web Development?</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?3,21,21#msg-21</link>
      <author>newcybertech</author>
      <description><![CDATA[By Léonie Watson

User experience might sound like just another bit of marketing candy, but there's a lot of science hiding behind this feel good phrase.

People always come to a web site with a goal in mind, whether that's to book tickets, find out when the local recycle centre is open, check their bank statement or listen to the radio. It sounds remarkably simple, a logical assertion that the purpose of any web site is to fulfil the goals of the user. But time and time again, this fundamental concept is overlooked or underestimated.

It takes a subtle combination of a number of different disciplines to build a web site that is functional, attractive, supportive and user friendly. Each one plays a vital role in creating an environment where people can achieve their goals without difficulty, obstruction or frustration.

Psychology

If the purpose of a web site is to support the goals of the user, it's necessary to understand what those goals might be. Psychology helps us understand who people are, the reasons they do things and the purpose of their choices.

Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)

In supporting the user it makes sense to picture the way individuals use technology. HCI helps us understand why people choose to use different technologies, the strengths and weaknesses of those technologies and the different ways people use them.

Usability

It is absolutely essential that any web site is user friendly. Usability helps us understand the elements of a web site that can sometimes be difficult for people to use and to identify ways to clarify and simplify them, removing frustration for users.

Accessibility

If a web site is to support all users it is necessary to ensure that the site is accessible. Accessibility helps us identify the potential problems people with disabilities might face on a site and to identify ways in which these problems can be avoided.

Graphic Design

Visual clarity and appeal are vital elements in a web site. Graphic Design helps us identify colour schemes that enhance readability and ease of use, whilst defining a visual identity that provides the first signal to the user that a site will fulfil their expectations.

Computer Science

For a web site to meet the target of supporting the user's goals it is unquestionably important to use the most appropriate technology. Computer Science helps us to produce code that supports the web site and which enables us to identify solutions for problems facing users.

The whole package

User experience is born out of the knowledge and experiences that each of these disciplines bring. Independently of each other they cannot ensure that a web site will meet the goals and expectations of the user, but working in combination they produce a valuable tour de force.

The web development industry is maturing from self taught practitioner to business savvy enterprise. It is no longer enough to throw a web site together, it's not even enough to go through the motions and tick all the right boxes. For web development to meet the needs of an increasingly web savvy business world, it must be able to deliver a powerful user experience and that requires a considerable arsenal of skills.

      <title>[Website Advertising &amp; Marketing] 5 Secrets to Effective Pay-Per-Click Advertising</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?5,20,20#msg-20</link>
      <author>newcybertech</author>
<description><![CDATA[With so many companies swarming the World Wide Web with their products, how can you and your products and services stand out?

Your ready answer would most likely be effective marketing. But how? How can you catch the eye of a surfer skimming carelessly through web pages? How can you keep the attention of a typical website reader who spends no more than 30 seconds to read any given article online? How can you garner sales online?

One marketing technique is to be listed in search engines - but again, with thousands of companies offering the same products and services as you, how can your scream for attention be heard?

One technique is pay per click advertising, or PPC. You write out and place an advertisement in a search engine, list yourself under keywords of your choosing, and bid on the placement of your ads. This narrows your field to the people who are actively searching for your products and services.

If someone finds the ad and clicks it, that person goes to your website, and you pay the bid price. As a rule, the higher you bid, the higher your ad goes in the list of search results for a certain keyword, and the more people will go to your site.

PPC can be used to widen your reach, but it can be very expensive, especially if people click your ad only out of curiosity, or if you bid on more keywords than your budget can handle. However, PPC can get you customers and increase your profits. If done well, it can earn you money.

Here are five tips to get the most out of PPC.

Get Ten Specific Keywords.
If you are a company specializing in exercise equipment, don't select &quot;exercise equipment&quot; or &quot;gym&quot; as your keywords. Chances are, there will be hundreds of thousands of other bidders waiting to jump on those same keywords. Be specific. Try &quot;treadmill&quot; or &quot;stationary bike.&quot; Select a maximum of ten words, just to test the waters and see how your potential customers respond. If the first ten keywords succeed in getting you a larger market, then research additional keywords which are not as specific. However, if your first try yields less than satisfactory results, then try another set of keywords if you can still afford it.

Write Your Ads but Write the Truth.
Most ad writers will broadcast their wares as being the be-all and cure all of all ills and pains. If they do this, web users will click on their ads and storm the site. This is well and good if the product or service will live up to the ad's promise - but what if it doesn't? A customer clicks, you pay, but the customer doesn't buy. You lose.

Write a succinct but accurate ad that doesn't sue vague language. Avoid using words such as &quot;free,&quot; &quot;low cost,&quot; &quot;extremely effective,&quot; and &quot;cheap.&quot; Tailor your ads to fit the keyword, and if you can, include your prices on the ads. This way, you will get a buyer who is ready and willing to purchase your product or service.

Budget Your Bid.
It's tempting to go all out and set your prices, especially if you think your product will sell. But what if it won't? Set a monthly budget of about $100 for your bids, and bid just right - bid too high and you will run out of money, bid too low and your ads won't show up.

Even if you believe in your product, keep within bid budget, and do not get into bidding wars, especially with another advertiser who has a much larger budget than you. Don't waste your time thinking about your bids. Instead, invest your time in designing what your ad is linked to, which brings us to:

Make Your Site a Professional One.
The standard rules of web design apply. Check your web content for spelling and grammatical errors. Update your web content regularly. Fix any broken links and images. Design your website so that it will be easy to navigate and load, so do not use Flash animation, as this will slow down your buyers' browsers. Link your ads to the exact place on your site where your product or service appears.

Know When to Stop.
PPC ad campaigns can lead more buyers to you, but take care to check profit against spending. If you have already spent double your advertising budget, but have had little or no sales, consider dropping your campaign. You can also measure your progress in clicks. A total of 300 clicks is average for any ad. If your ad has reached 300 clicks and you have made no sales yet, then terminate your PPC project.

Equally as important as knowing when to stop is knowing that all is not yet lost and you can still go on. Running a web-based business means investing time, money, and effort, so keep your PPC up and running as long as you are raking money in. PPC, after all, may first mean pay-per-click, but, if you're successful, can soon mean Profiting Perfectly in Cash.

<title>[Search Engine Optimization] Help - Removing JavaScript From A Website</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?2,19,19#msg-19</link>
      <author>newcybertech</author>
<description><![CDATA[As web pages get increasingly more advanced so does the amount of code needed. The result may be a beautiful looking page that performs many things well...except ranking highly in the search engines. Search engine spiders are fussy eaters and don't really like anything with their HTML, especially not a side order of JavaScript.

First check the source code of your web page, especially the section as this is where most JavaScript is placed. For example, if your page includes rollover buttons it's probably heavy with JavaScript. All this code gets in the way of the spiders and doesn't help in achieving good rankings for your site. But there's an answer - remove it. The beauty is that removing this code from each page not only makes your page more 'digestible' for search engines but it also makes the maintenance of the JavaScript code easier.

The Two Step Plan
1. Highlight all the JavaScript in your page in between (not including) the and the , and then copy and paste it into a new notepad document (or whatever you use). Save this document as 'scripts.js'. On your web page you should now be left with and then . Now all you need to do is add the address of this external JavaScript page into the opening JavaScript tag, something like this:

This tag now tells the browser that it should go to scripts.js to get all the relevant JavaScript code for the page.

2. Upload the external JavaScript page (scripts.js) to your web site and then replace all the existing JavaScript code in the section of your pages with just the one single line;

This example assumes that your external JavaScript page and your web pages are all being uploaded into the root directory, if they are not then you will have to check the url of the src=&quot;scripts.js&quot; on each page to make sure the JavaScript is working properly.

The advantage of having all your JavaScript on one page is that if you have to make any changes to it you only need to do it once instead of going into every page of your site and making the same change.

If you have two sets of JavaScript code then just do this twice so you end up with the following in your tag:

More Web Page Diet Plans
Removing other bits of code to slim your pages down and make them easier to maintain and help them perform better in the search engines can be achieved by using CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and SSI (Server Side Includes).

CSS code can be placed onto an external file exactly like JavaScript can. SSI can allow you to take standard elements of your web page (eg. logo, footer or navigation) and place that code onto an external file.

So you can then update your navigation by simply modifying one file, instead of going into every page and doing it.

      <title>[Webmaster Resources] Are Site Map's Important?</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?3,18,18#msg-18</link>
      <author>newcybertech</author>
<description><![CDATA[(tu)From the usability side of things, site maps are very handy in helping your visitors navigate your site and find everything you want them to find. A simple link to your site map on every page will help ensure that your visitors should never get lost.

If you haven’t got one yet then you may want to check this page out at Jakob Nielsen’s site on site map usability - http://www.useit.com/alertbox/20020106.html

Site map’s are also useful for search engine spiders. It allows them to crawl all, or most of your pages directly from one page.

Search engines are relatively stupid, they only really understand HTML, so make sure your site map uses links within HTML tags, not image maps, JavaScript links, Flash or so they require session ID’s - most search engines won’t follow these links to the other pages on your site. The site map should include links to virtually every page of your site, or at least to every important section.

Design
Design your site map so it is simple. This is not only relevant from a usability standpoint but removing a whole load of unnecessary features (and therefore code) will allow the spiders to get straight to the important part of your page - the links - so it can follow them onto your other pages.

Add a paragraph at the top of the page briefly describing what your site is all about, with a link to your home page. This means that if the site map does actually rank well for a phrase visitors won’t be confused at landing on the site map page. Visitors are not going to enter your site via the home page every time - this isn’t a bad thing. Every page on your site is a potential entry point.

Describe your links with keyphrases. Once you’ve laid your site map out describe each link with a relevant keyphrase that you are targeting for your site. For example, instead of;

Repairs - we fix ‘em too.
try;
Widget Repairs - Visit our widget repairs studio and get a free quote.

Implement
Now you’ve got your site map ready you should add it to your existing navigation. As stated before a link to your site map on every page should mean your visitors are not lost, plus this will inter link all the pages making it easy for the spiders to crawl the site. Don’t bury the site map away either, place it in the root directory so the url should be something like http://www.newcybertech.com/Site_Map.html.

Hope that’s made life a little easier.

<title>[Affiliate Programs] Hiding Your Affiliate Links</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?4,17,17#msg-17</link>
      <author>newcybertech</author>
<description><![CDATA[When some surfers see an affiliate link they can just open a new browser window and then directly type in the merchants url and go straight to the site, this results in you getting no referral.

To avoid this you can encode your affiliate link within a small piece of JavaScript. This hides the true affiliate url and allows you to display a 'dummy url' in its place.

Below is the code;
TEXT GOES HERE

This link will display the http://www.merchant-url-goes-here.com in the status bar at the bottom of your browser, hiding the http://www.affiliate-url-goes-here.com.

The Remedy.
You can check these kinds of links by holding down your mouse button on the link (right or left button), the status bar will then reveal the true link.

Another Tip.
When entering your merchants url, don't enter the exact one. A user can still see it and then type it into a new browser window. Use one that is still related to the merchant's site but doesn't actually exist.
For example, if you're linking to www.myaffiliateprogram.com then you could change that url to something like www.myap-software.com. If a user tries to type this directly into a browser it won't work. The user will then have to come back to your page and actually click on the link to get to their intended destination.

<description><![CDATA[This is to emphasize the importance for affiliates to test, experiment and be flexible with their websites. Not all your links and promotional ideas will work well so it's important to find out what is working, and what isn't working.

If you've got a banner on your site and you haven't earned a dime from it, then don't just sit there cursing the banner and give up. Try creating a new page dedicated to promoting that product. If you've done that, then maybe the content needs to change - instead of focusing on one feature, turn your attentions to promoting other features. Maybe you haven't mentioned anything about customer care or your content may not be encouraging enough for visitors to click through on your links.

A little bit of research can help you create better performing pages. See what the merchant's competitors are doing, see how other affiliates are promoting the same product, find out how websites targeting the same audience as yours are promoting similar products, find out more about the actual products you're trying to promote, etc.

Talk to the affiliate program manager. You maybe thinking that 'If only they had a 100px x100px banner' or 'If only they had some more product details I could use'. If there's something you could use that isn't being provided then contact the affiliate program manager and tell them - that's what they're there for!

Subtle changes to a webpage can make big differences. Try placing banners in different spots, experiment with text by using bold letters, italic letters, larger letters, different colors, etc. The appearance and design of a page has a huge influence on a visitor.

When making changes it is important to track them and measure them. If you do not, then you'll never know if there's been any improvement. This isn't a complicated procedure. Log into your affiliate admin page and check how many click-throughs and sign ups you got for the last week. Make a note of this. Then make your changes and after another week, go back into your admin area and run a report for the last week.

Compare those results with the previous week's results to find out if any improvements have been made. It's a constant circle of testing and measuring, finely tuning each page to maximize performance.

When you've created a page that is performing well for your site's traffic then you can simply copy the key features of that page to create new pages promoting different products, increasing your potential to earn money.

<title>[Affiliate Programs] Help improve click through rates and conversions</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?4,15,15#msg-15</link>
      <author>newcybertech</author>
<description><![CDATA[To help improve click through rates and conversions an affiliate needs to do a little bit of pre-selling to encourage the potential customer to actually make a purchase.

This doesn't mean that you have to write loads and loads of in-your-face sales copy with outrageous statements and an excessive amount of !!!exclamation marks!!!!! All this means is that you have to satisfy a few doubts or questions that maybe in your visitor's mind.

There is no need to cover every little detail about a product or service, as the merchant website will do this.  Just pick a couple of key issues that you think will positively influence a visitor's decision to buy.  These might include;

1. Special Offers. If there is a special offer for a product or service then you should make your visitors aware of it. Remember to remove this content when the special offer is over though.

2. Price. When buying something, probably the biggest decision factor is the price. You could avoid mentioning the price, but if you do state the cost when the visitor visits the merchant site, they can read all about the product and service and then not get a shock, are get any second thoughts when they are confronted with the price. If a user clicks through to the merchant's site knowing what the price is, then that means there is a big obstacle out of the way when trying to convert them into a customer. Including the shipping price (if applicable) can also help clarify the exact cost of an item.

3. Specify Key Features. There is no need to list everything about a product or service, just highlight the key features that your target audience will appreciate. Relating these key features into real world situations can also help, eg. 'This car has power steering and sensors on both front and rear bumpers that makes parking a breeze.'

4. Warranty and Support. Customer care is an important factor for any customer, especially when buying a more expensive item. Letting your visitors know that a merchant has 24 hour support, free returns, set up assistance, 3 year warranty, 90 day money back guarantee, etc will help to make the potential customer feel more confident and reassured about buying from that particular merchant.

5. Availability. Not all online retailers deliver worldwide. There's nothing more annoying than going through the whole order process only for the confirmation page to have in small print 'US and Canadian shipping only'. If you can help your visitors by letting them know of any delivery restrictions then they'll appreciate it.

All this may seem like filtering your visitors and putting some of them off, but the bigger picture is referring quality visitors to your merchants, along with giving your website a sense of authority and professionalism. The alternative of writing really salesy copy and outlandish statements with no specifics about the product risks putting off buyers who are ready to buy.

Your content doesn't have to sell the item, the merchants site will do this. You don't have to be the greasy second hand car salesman, just be a friend giving some good advice and information. Encourage the click through and get the visitor in the right frame of mind to buy.

<title>[Webmaster Resources] How do you get visitors to your site?</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?3,14,14#msg-14</link>
      <author>newcybertech</author>
<description><![CDATA[Using your website to refer visitors to merchant sites means that you need to find visitors in the first place. How do you get visitors to your site?

The most popular method of attracting new visitors is by ranking well in search engines such as Google.com, MSN.com or Teoma.com. Search engines use algorithms to automatically rank sites, these algorithms look at many different elements of a webpage such as meta tags, content and the number of other websites linking to your own.

The most important step is to research the keyphrases that visitors will use to find sites like yours. You can find phrases that people are using by visiting the Overture keyword suggestion tool here - http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/, and by visiting Word Tracker here - http://our.affiliatetracking.net/wordtracker/a/9450. Simply brainstorm a list of every possible phrase that you think a searcher might use to find your site or the products you're promoting. Check your site logs too and see what users are already using.

We have set up an Excel spreadsheet for you to download to make this easier. Go to - http://www.kolimbo.com/Search-Engine-Sheet.xls - and then save it to your desktop. Open it up and read the basic instructions of how to add your phrases to this sheet, then the numbers from Google and Overture, finally sort the data so the most effective terms are listed at the top.

At the bottom of this Excel document are two more tabs. These contain the web addresses of search engines and directories that you can submit your website to. Be sure to read the guidelines of each site before submitting.

You also need to add meta tags to each page on your website, if you haven't already.  These meta tags go within the here section of your site and should look like this;

Insert title here with keyphrase

These are just the basics of optimizing your website for the search engines, but it's still a good start.

<description><![CDATA[PPC ads appear like search engine listings but are actually paid advertisements. The highest bidder gets the highest position. Overture.com, Espotting.com and FindWhat.com are all examples of PPC engines that you can join. The advantages are that you can get a Number 1 listing almost immediately, the disadvantage is that you have to pay for every click through.

Google AdWords is not strictly a PPC Engine but it is usually lumped in with the others as you still have to pay for each click you receive.

You can find loads of different Pay Per Click search engines here - http://www.payperclicksearchengines.com - infact, there's hundreds!

<title>[Webmaster Resources] Test Your Web Site</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?3,10,10#msg-10</link>
      <author>newcybertech</author>
<description><![CDATA[Once you design your pages and put them online don't assume it's perfect and that if anyone can't use it then it's their problem, not yours. If someone can't use it then you're missing out on revenue.

Carry out some user testing on your web pages and get a better idea of how people use your page and navigate around. 'User Testing' may sound like a massive expense that only huge corporations do, and in its purest form it probably is, but all I'm talking about is getting a few people of different ages and different internet experience to use your site whilst you look over their shoulder and see how successful they are in using your site.

Do the pages load quick enough for your young nephew? Can your gran read the text OK? Does your Dad understand what you're selling? Can your friend easily navigate your pages? Make a note of the questions people ask you, but don't help them out (If your great-grandmother asks why the typewriter is attached to the microwave, then move on to someone else ;) ).

Also, take this opportunity to ask them to find Product A online. Do they go to a search engine first? If so, which one? What phrase do they search for? How do they look at the results page? Is No.1 the best, or do they carefully read the descriptions and titles? Do they look at sponsored links? Do they even know about sponsored links? Ask them why they chose a particular site, what did they like about it?

Being on the Internet all day, everyday can easily blind you to how 'ordinary people' use it. Advanced computer and internet users operate differently from others. The masses that use the internet to shop online are important because they are the ones that will generate the bulk of your revenue in most cases. Add to Digg]]></description>

<title>[Search Engine Optimization] Raise Your Website Traffic with RSS - Blogs and Yahoo!</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?2,9,9#msg-9</link>
      <author>newcybertech</author>
      <description><![CDATA[In
our first part of this article, we raised the question of whether blogging and
its distribution tool, RSS feeds, are really useful for Internet and Search
Engine Promotion. Are RSS feeds and blogs really the next big thing in web
marketing, distribution, and content creation — or are they just hype?
There is a lot of hype around RSS, blogs, and
derivative technologies like podcasting. But are they really useful to the
serious Internet marketer or are they just the subjects used by marketers
looking to create new products to grab our hard-earned marketing dollars.

We also covered the objections and reservations from some
Internet marketers about the usefulness of RSS feeds and blogs to the
bottom-line of their ebusinesses. This can be contrasted to our discovery of
people like Willie Crawford and companies like Weblogs, which generate 6- and
7-figure incomes from blogs, RSS, and related technologies with Google Adsense.
To illustrate, if the typical Internet marketers — not
just web gurus — can benefit from blogs and RSS feeds, I promised to share my
experiences with my new sites not yet optimized for the search engines.
With virgin websites, I could observe the traffic pulling
power of blogging, pinging, and RSS. If you would like to read or familiarize
yourself with Part 1 of this article, you can read it at... http://www.searchengineplan.com/articles/feb06-rss-prt1.htm.
To test the effectiveness of the ability of RSS feeds and
blogs to attract and drive traffic to my web properties, I did some quick and
insightful research on the topic. Brandon Hong's Marketing Rampage with Blogs
and RSS was the resource which best enabled me to understand the techno-jargon
associated with blogs and RSS feeds. Believe me, I have a 10-year background in
information technology, and I can't make heads or tails out of the alphabet soup
served up by tech geeks on blog and RSS media.
Plus, I run a very busy SEO consultancy and virtual real
estate (VRE Adsense™ and Affiliate Sites) side business, so I don't have the
time to muck around in nebulous articles on these topics.
If you even remotely feel like me about the complexity of
blogs or RSS, do yourself a favor and obtain Brandon Hong's multimedia ebook of
screen-capture videos.
You can read a full review of the book at... http://www.searchengineplan.com/articles/hongrss.htm.
I have been blogging for almost 3 years, but RSS feeds
have been harder to grasp in terms of development and marketing. The easiest way
to start blogging is to setup an account with www.Blogger.com
or www.Bloglines.com.
Blogger will actually walk you through the process.
Experienced web designers should not have a problem
setting up a www.Blogger.com account. Blogger.com is actually a good initial
choice because it provides an easy setup for RSS feeds. The setup can be done by
going to the Settings Tab in Blogger, clicking the site feed link, and filling
out the forms.
The next issue to consider is the complex RSS
compatibility issue. You can sidestep the decision about whether to go with RSS
version 2.0 or Google's Atom standard by &amp;quot;burning your RSS feed&amp;quot; or
making them more compatible with all popular RSS formats with a third party
service like Feedburner.com.
After creating your RSS feed in Blogger, you should have
it burned in the Feedburner.com service; it will guide you through the process.
The optimized Feedburner.com RSS feed is then ready to be submitted to the major
RSS directories.
I would suggest creating a few descriptions of your blog
and then submitting both your blog and RSS URLs to the appropriate RSS and blog
directories. My firm fast-tracks blog and RSS feed promotion by submitting them
to about 90 directories that specialize in this type of media — including
Yahoo! and MSN RSS content services.
Both the Blogger.com service and, more extensively,
Feedburner.com can be configured to ping the major RSS and blog directories.
This means they signal or alert these directories whenever you update posts on
your blog in real time. Perhaps most importantly, you get traffic statistics
about your RSS subscribers and readers.
The results of my RSS and blog traffic research over the
last 3 months are amazing! I have been totally blown away by the research. I am
excited about RSS and blog usage, despite the good and bad news:
The bad news: According to a White paper on blogging,
sponsored in part by Yahoo!, 88% of Internet users don't know what RSS
technology is and 96% of Internet users stated they do not use it!
The good news: 27% of Internet users experience RSS feed
content on their My Yahoo and MSN web accounts, although they don't realize it!
Moreover, 4% of Internet users actively use RSS feeds. This means 31%, or almost
one-third (1/3), of Internet users in the U.S. read RSS feeds.
With almost 150 million U.S. Internet users and 600
million net users worldwide, you do the math on the large numbers of people
reading RSS feeds even if unwittingly).
More positive stats on RSS and blog usage, according to
the Pew Internet &amp;amp; American life project:
- (1) Fully 19% of online Americans ages 18-29 have
created blogs
- (2) 11 million American adults say they have created blogs
- (3) 27% of Internet users reported in November that they read blogs
This translates into 32 million American adults who read
blogs. This information shows that RSS and blogs are growing technologies for
serious Internet business people to adapt into their marketing mix.
My personal research over three months showed that when I
regularly updated my blog sites, burned RSS feeds pinging the major directories
increased my traffic a whopping 25%!
Blogs, RSS feeds, and articles distributed regularly to
major host sites and distribution services actually rivaled the traffic of my
highly optimized top-ranking SEO and VRE sites. More importantly, traffic from
blog, RSS, and article-driven traffic actually made twice as much income in
sales and Adsense™ revenue than my traditional SEO sites.
Needless to say, once a skeptic, I am now a big believer
in the power of RSS feeds and blogs to boost my bottom-line. I will leave you
with a controversial statement from a SEO and Searchpreneur©.
Dr. Jakob Nielsen recently referred to search engines as
&amp;quot;the leeches on the Internet.&amp;quot; He feels &amp;quot;Search engines extract
too much of the Web's value, leaving too little for the websites that actually
create the content. Liberation from search dependency is a strategic imperative
for both websites and software vendors.&amp;quot;
With Yahoo! and MSN soon to enforce email postage,
according to a recent article by the New York Times, RSS and blogging may become
the best and latest arsenal for small business to continue to survive and thrive
in the Internet economy.

<title>[Website Advertising &amp; Marketing] How To Click With Online Advertising</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?5,8,8#msg-8</link>
      <author>newcybertech</author>
<description><![CDATA[For a small business competing in a niche market it is becoming ever harder to achieve high rankings in the free search engines. Pay-per-click (&quot;PPC&quot;) advertising can be a great alternative.

Learn the secrets of PPC search engines and success on the internet could be yours. Be warned, however, a lack of understanding could put your business on the road to insolvency. I can't emphasize this strongly enough. An understanding of PPC can be a great advantage to your business.

If you've ever attended an auction to bid for a piece of furniture or artwork you'll have some idea of how to advertise on the PPC search engines. In this case you're bidding for high ranked spots on the keywords you've identified for your business. Visitors will arrive at your site by clicking on your search engine advert, and each time that happens you'll pay the search engine the value of your bid. A bid can be as low as 5 cents, but some highly competitive keywords can cost several dollars.

Now I'd like to discuss some advantages and disadvantages of advertising with PPC search engines. Advantages first :-

1. Only when someone clicks on you advert are you required to pay.

2. Can be an inexpensive method of attracting targeted traffic to your site.

3. Outbid the competition and that top advertising spot can be yours, no matter how small your business.

4. Some PPC search engines enable a campaign to be up and away in minutes. Not very long after you could be taking orders.

5. If your advert is not successful you can cancel or amend your listing with immediate effect.

6. You can test your advert, making amendments quickly and simply.

However, be aware of the disadvantages :-

1. Not everyone who clicks on your advert is a potential customer. You will have to pay for these junk clicks though.

2. The cost per click can escalate if you and and your competition become involved in a bidding war over that top spot.

3. Your advert may be subject to a strict review prior to approval. This can delay the start of the campaign considerably, and you may not like the final advert they approve.

4. A poorly worded or, even worse, misleading advert could generate traffic but not make sales. Unless you've placed a restriction on your advertising budget, your business could quickly be on the road to insolvency.

So how do you tip your toe in the water with PPC advertising? Before you do anything else research the keywords that your target market are searching on. You wouldn't want to bid for traffic on an irrelevant keyword would you? The methods for carrying out this research are a fully fledged topic in their own right, which I'll cover in a future article.

Another essential piece of knowledge you require before entering the bidding fray, is the monetary worth of a visitor to your website. By this I mean the average revenue generated by each visitor. This will be your guide to how far you can push it in the bidding process.

If you want to use PPC advertising to test your sales copy on a new site with no visitor knowledge, then monitor your costs versus sales closely. A daily budget is advisable at the outset. Limit your spending to something you can afford to lose if the worst occurs and you don't make any sales. Raise this as appropriate once you can see the sales conversion rate.

You're almost ready to get going. What I've provided here is an overview of PPC advertising. Use this as the first
building block in your quest to master the PPC search engines.

Wishing you every success with your online advertising.

<title>[Affiliate Programs] What is Affiliate Marketing?</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?4,6,6#msg-6</link>
      <author>newcybertech</author>
<description><![CDATA[:SAffiliate marketing is a sales process where merchants (a.k.a. advertisers, retailers, brands) can sell and promote their products and services by allowing websites to promote them in exchange for a reward, usually a commission payment.

The industry is well established and has been an active, online revenue generating system since 1994 when Amazon.com launched their own affiliate program. Nowadays affiliate marketing is a multi-million dollar industry attracting the largest names and providing many companies with a sizeable chunk of their sales.

Here are some definitions of some of the most common terms used;

1. Affiliate - An Affiliate is a person or a company that assists the merchant in marketing products and services in return for a commission. This is you!

2. Merchant - A merchant is a person or a company that markets their products and services on the web. Your merchant is the person/company whose program you joined.

3. Tracking and Management Solution - In order to track the incoming Affiliate-referred traffic to their sites, merchants need to purchase or create software to Track and Manage their Affiliates and their activities. Since you're here at The Kolimbo Training Center, the merchants here chose the My Affiliate Program Software.

4. Affiliate Networks - there are many networks similar to Kolimbo that have a wide variety of merchants to choose from. The way they operate can be different in the details, but basically they all provide a central site from which you can join and manage many affiliate programs.

5. Click-through - A click-through is the action that takes place when a visitor clicks on a banner or a link on your site to go to your merchant's site.

6. Impression - An impression occurs when a page containing your Affiliate code is loaded on your site or in your HTML email messages. Impressions are also called page views.

7. Conversion Rate - this is the most important figure to look out for as it tells you how effective your performance is in actually generating revenue. A conversion maybe making a sale, or generating a sign up, or simply an impression or click through - it all depends on the type of program the merchant is running.

8. Commission/Reward - this is the whole point of becoming an affiliate and using affiliate programs, the money! The commission is either determined by a percentage or a fixed rate each affiliate program will specify this. Cold hard cash isn't always the method of payment, some merchants may reward you by offering products, services, discounts, vouchers, points, etc, although this is quite rare.

9. CPS (Cost per Sale) - this where the merchant rewards you for each sale you make. It can either be a Percentage, e.g. 20% of the final sale - or - it can be a fixed rate, eg. $10 for every sale you make.

10. CPC (Cost per Click) - the merchant will reward you for every click through you generate to their site from your own. A CPC deal maybe something like $0.05 CPC, this means you get 5 Cents for every click through you produce.

11. CPM (Cost per Thousand) - this is to do with impressions. Every time a banner appears on your website then that is counted as one impression. A typical deal could be $0.50 CPM, which means you'll get 50 Cents for every thousand times a particular banner or creative is served on your website.

12. CPL (Cost per Lead) - a lead is something which a company can use to contact someone in order to solicit a sale, eg. This usually involves getting someone to fill in a form with some personal details and their contact information. Every form completed is a 'Lead' for the merchant. A CPL deal could be $2 CPL, which means you get $2 every time a visitor you refer fills in a particular form.

13. CPA (Cost per Action) - very similar to CPL but it can refer to something other than completing a form, eg. Downloading something, joining a newsletter or forum, watch a movie, etc. Basically, any action that a merchant wants visitors to perform on their website can be rewarded if they so wish.

14. Cookie Life - most affiliate programs (including most Kolimbo programs) need to use cookies somewhere in their tracking process. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on a user's computer when they click on an affiliate link and visit a merchant's site. This cookie has the affiliate ID on it so if the user then buys something, the merchant's site can look at the cookie and see that the merchant needs to reward Affiliate XX with a commission. A cookie life is the length of time this cookie will remain on the user's computer. Some last 24 hours, others 1 week, 30 days, 1 year or even forever. So, if you have joined a program that has a cookie life of 30 days, if a user clicks on your link, visits the site and then decides 40 days later to buy something, YOU will NOT get a commission. A longer cookie life is preferred especially if you are selling a product or service where there is a considerable 'decision making' process, eg. An expensive item.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Romero

      <title>[Webmaster Resources] Drop Shipping</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?3,4,4#msg-4</link>
      <author>newcybertech</author>
      <description><![CDATA[Five Rules to Profit By

What is drop shipping? If you\'ve heard anything about drop shipping at all, you might think it is the answer to every internet entrepreneurs dream. In a nutshell, you market and sell a product online at a price you choose. After your customer purchases the item, and you receive payment for it, you place an order for the product you just sold with a drop-shipper. The drop shipper charges you a wholesale price and ships the product directly to your customer. You pocket the difference between the wholesale (or near wholesale) and retail prices. The best part is that you have no inventory to hold or finance, and no shipping hassles. Wow! Sounds great, doesnt it? Well, it is. But you have to do your homework for it to be profitable.

First, you must find a product that will sell in sufficient quantity and at a sufficient mark-up to make it profitable. Just because you know of a drop shipper that sells croaking ceramic frogs at a great price, does not mean that anyone will buy them. Research the market for any product or product line that you are considering. Try to determine the products demand, how much competition there is, and what the competition is charging. Some lines of business have a lower margin than others.

Sell only a few products, or at least make sure that the products you sell are related and targeted at the same market. Don\'t try to sell every drop shipped item you find. This will help you concentrate your marketing efforts and costs where they will make the most impact.

Find a reputable supplier. With the popularity of drop shipping, many scams have arisen around the industry. There are sham lists of drop shippers being sold for hundreds of dollars. There are middlemen posing as drop shippers who will charge you more than you need to pay. There are turnkey internet businesses that claim to provide a complete package of products, e-commerce, and marketing - but for such a hefty membership fee or monthly cost that you will never make a profit. Dont let this scare you away - just be aware. To get started on the right track, take a look at Chris Maltas Worldwide Brands, a directory of legitimate drop shippers that has an excellent reputation.

Be prepared to deal with backorders and returns. Just because some of the hassles of online business are elimitated with drop shipping, not all of them are. You will run into times when the product you\'ve just sold is not available immediately. There will be returns and refunds. Work these matters through with your drop shipper ahead of time, so you will know how to handle them when they arise.

Treat this like a real business. Dont SPAM, dont use a personal or free Web page address for your store, register with your County Clerk, get a Tax ID number, and be prepared to file taxes. Proceed with the expectation that you\'ll make a decent profit, and the chances that you will automatically increase. Add to Digg]]></description>

<title>[Search Engine Optimization] Organic SEO The New Messiah For Webmasters</title>
      <link>http://newcybertech.com/Phorum/read.php?2,2,2#msg-2</link>
      <author>newcybertech</author>
      <description><![CDATA[X(Organic SEO seems to
be the catch phrase of the moment. However, unlike many other linking tactics
and strategies, this one actually works.
What is Organic SEO or Organic
  Search Engine Optimization?
  Explained simply,
it’s where all your linking structures originates from the content up - in
other words, you let all your content created for your sites, blogs and
articles do your link building for you.
  Actually, the answer
is as simple as this article. You’re probably experiencing one of the best
examples of Organic SEO right this moment by reading this article. Article
marketing is pure Organic SEO. You let your article and your author’s
resource box build one-way links from related niche sites to your site.
  But the keyword is content.
You must create high quality original content for this system to really
develop and flourish. The better the content, the faster your rankings and
traffic will grow. By producing valuable content in articles, sites and blogs,
you are building real traffic and real links that the search engines salivate
over. And they will reward your site with higher rankings and even more
  traffic.
  Try Article Writing…
  Frankly, I was rather
surprised at the effectiveness of article writing. It seems like such a
benevolent little creature. You write about your own experiences on the
subject of your site or blog, keeping your articles short, around 500 to 800
words - although some of my best performing articles have been longer, about
  900 to 1200 words.
I have only written about 60
articles. But the benefits have been enormous; spreading my content
all over the web and building one-way links to my sites and blogs. Some of
these articles like the ones in Addme.com or Webpronews.com get archived and
will provide good deep PR links for years to come.
  There are a few techniques
I use to extend the effectiveness of my articles. First, I always start with a
keyword or keyword phrase that I want to target with a particular article. I
do major, major, major research on my article’s keywords - using sites like
  nichebot.com, overture.com, and a few others.
  I check how much competition
there is for the keywords. Combining a new keyword with ones you already have
positioned high for in the search engines works well. For example, I have
optimized my site for the keyword ‘Free’, it appears throughout my site.
When I introduce a new keyword phrase I sometimes combine it with Free. Pick
the right keyword combination and you will gain an edge over your competition
  more quickly.
  Always put your keyword phrase
into the title of your article. I also make it a habit of not picking the top
keywords in a niche, I go for middle ranked keywords - I am better assured
that I will rank on the first page SERPs for these lower keywords. Why waste
valuable time shooting for the stars when you can easily land on the moon!
  I submit my articles
mainly to a short list of online article directories (
  ezinearticles.com,buzzle.com,isnare.com,goarticles.com,ideamarketers.com, and
articlealley.com ) these work the best for me. These sites rank well in the
search engines and even though the surfer may go to another site to read your
article first, it then delivers a much more warmed up and targeted visitor to
  your own site.
  Other webmasters from
your niche will pick up your high quality articles and place them on their
sites. Organically growing more related one-way links to your site. Google
looks very favorably on these one-way links and will reward your site for
  having them.
  Article marketing is one
Organic SEO tactic every website should be using. Instead of paying
high prices for seo services, why not write or hire someone to create keyword
rich articles for your site. The benefits will surprise you.
  Try Blogging…
  Blogs are another form of
Organic SEO. It also builds links and traffic to your site the
natural way - by providing valuable content.
  For those marketers and
webmasters who practice Organic SEO, the free blogging systems are a
godsend. A skilled marketer can legitimately use these online blogging
programs to boost their site’s rankings, traffic and income. What more can
any online marketer or webmaster ask for?
  I use numerous blogs to
compliment my sites. I base these blogs on the major keywords of my
sites. For example, one section on my main Internet Marketing site examines
laptop computers, I created a blog with Bloglines.com covering the same topic.
Although all the content is different from what you will find on my main site.
  I also use Blogger.com
because it’s owned by Google and is very simple to use. I find posting my
weekly ezine on Blogger adds another way I can get my message out to my
subscribers. Not to mention, all the linking and pinging a blog brings into
  play.
I also use the open source
software and system, WordPress for another of my blogs on marketing.
This is a php database supported program that was a lot less easier to set up
on my site than I first expected. It’s one of the best blogging systems I
have worked with and is highly favored by the search engines. If you’re not
  using it - try it.
  In addition, I have
just started using LiveJournal for another blog and that system is also very
easy to use. I usually post to my blogs once or twice a week, just short
helpful tips or links that a visitor or search engine would be interested in.
Keep in mind, all these free blogging sites are PR9 or PR10, has to count for
  something.
  Spam has become a problem
with many of these blogging systems, I now usually block all comments or
moderate them. All this spam just goes to show how effective getting links in
related blogs can booster your rankings for competitive keywords.
  I have found blogging
to be a very effective tool for getting your keywords indexed and ranked very
quickly. I also like to use blogs for those golden double-header listings in
the SERPs, preferably at the number 1 and 2 spots! That’s where you get two
listings from your site for a certain keyword on the first page, this I find,
brings in a lot more traffic than a single listing.
  In art there is something
called the Golden Section, a perfect proportion that works magic into
any painting or picture. It is an organic and natural effect that appears
everywhere in our world. For webmasters, having your site listed 1 and 2 for
your keywords has to be another form of the Golden Section, made especially
  for us.
  In that same light,
Organic SEO is a natural and effective way for webmasters to grow their links
and rankings. Articles and blogs are two special tools we can use to further
that natural growth. Create your own Golden Section and give the search
engines something to talk about by trying Organic SEO. Build your links and
  rankings the natural way.
  Your site’s salvation is only
  a keystroke away!
