Marmaris, the most `European` of the resort towns on Turkey’s coastline, is a fairly large resort area, and, in the summertime, an active, sophisticated centre of tourism. It is the first town along the famed `Turquoise Coast` along the north eastern edge of the Mediterranean. Marmaris shopping can be a pleasant experience. Search out incredible deals on a wide array of items such as jewelry, ceramics, leather and carpets with the best bargains typically at the Carsi Markey in the Ottoman Castle where you can find over 200 shops and a flea market open all week long including a bustling Thursday market with locals selling fruits and vegetables next to fabrics and clothing. But in order to enjoy the Marmaris experience, one must be prepared. The best clubs to visit include David Jones` Locker where you can dance all night and drink affordable cocktails, Vagabundo which is right on the beach and is known for its workers dancing on the bar, and Cheers where you can enjoy a drag act and outdoor seating away from the heat.
